Style Spy – Gorgeous in the Valley
It felt like forever since I went out to photograph stylish folks on the streets of Brisbane, and yesterday felt like the right day to go. In hindsight it probably wasn’t the most ideal day seeing as it was insanely hot, but one must be professional and carry on.
To my surprise there was a sea of office workers in their uniform black-pants-modest-top combination. I’m not sure what I was expecting but after all this IS the valley and people ARE creative and free with their dressing. Usually. But not on a Thursday at 12.30pm.
There was one gorgeous, ethereal creature that walked past and made my head turn. She was so tall and slender as she glided past me and sat down on the bench. I had to go back and ask to take a photo, I loved what she was wearing and how she carried herself and I hoped I’d be able to immortalise that moment for all to see.
Now, a day later, I wish I had asked her name and where she was going. We chatted only briefly as I asked to take her photo, it was as if I was being careful not to disturb her melancholy mood. Now I wish I had found out what wonderful places she was going, she looked too delicate for the mundane reality of 9 to 5.
i know her – and she is going places!
