Brisbane – Hot in the city

This summer has been incredibly hot. Like unbelievably, incredibly hot. It’s almost painful watching the Australian Tennis Open knowing they hit 42 degrees Celsius down there and the players keep playing on. Quick, someone turn on the air-conditioning, I’m hot just thinking about it.

Brisbane hasn’t been much different. We’ve had 32 degrees at 10 am and 24 degrees at 8am which makes my morning run really, really hard. So even though it’s gorgeous to look at, an hour kills me so I’ve had to resort to the gym again in order to avoid sunstroke. Weekends are much better, we use our pool! Hubby is a keen floater (lilos rock), I’m less brave the hotter it gets so these days I’m what you call a dipper. Dip in, dip out, that’s me done.

I have been trying to get my sister to pop over from New Zealand, to make the most of our awesome set up in the middle of Kangaroo Point, across the river from the city. These photos are really for her, to see our neighbourhood (and our pool) and to decide to come visit.

For all of you Northern hemisphere winter people, I hope these photos warm you up and make you book a ticket to Australia, pronto.

Hahahaha yes, I forgot about that! Best I go back out there for some floating and in depth (no pun intended) testing of the lilo. :)
