Vanja Stace – Fashion darling!

Queensland Art Gallery has a wonderful exhibition on at the moment. ‘Threads: Contemporary Textiles and the Social Fabric’ celebrates the humble thread, exploring its stregth in woven forms and its vulnerability in deconstructed pieces.

Brook & Lyn is a contemporary jewellery label based in the US by Mimi Jung. The current range consists of striking agate pieces enveloped with crochet and bound with rope.

You might have noticed that I refreshed my logo recently and that it now includes a gorgeous illustration. Well I’ve been working with Brisbane artist Emily Averill aka LunaLove on the project. She has also created some fantastic works for my blog which I can’t wait to show you all. I thought I’d introduce her to you all as she’s a talent to watch in 2011.

Fashion is many things to many people but a special few can see if from the top. Lucky for us that they make documentaries to show the true face of their fashion world – both pretty and grotesque. Here is a list of must see documentaries and biographies from the industry.

This amazing artist showed in Brisbane tonight, here are some photos from the exhibition. The work is hauntingly intelligent and raises more questions than it answers. I suggest to you all to look into his work further and to catch his show where you can.
