Thursday night jazz with Ensemble Satsang
Last week was a very busy week, hence I had hardly posted anything on my blog. But I made time, however, to check out a jazz band on Thursday night. After all, a week without live music is definitely not a good week.
My entry in the CLEO Make up competition
When my gorgeous friend Katy sent me the link to the ‘CLEO Make Me a Make Up Artist Competition’ I was immediately excited. I had been wanting to shoot my friend Sonia for a while now and this was the perfect excuse.
Zoolander at Limes Hotel rooftop cinema
It’s February and my New Year’s resolution is going great! What is it you ask? To get out more, meet people and blog about cool folks and cool things in Brisbane.
Exhibition: Identity and Emotion
Last week we had the privilege of attending the opening night of an exhibition called IDENTITY and EMOTION. I met the organiser Genevieve Robey through Twitter and once I had commented on her work she invited us to the opening night.
Event: High Heels Society
The High Heels Society is a monthly get together of Brisbane’s fashionistas who LOVE shoes. Hosted by Damien Rossi – Brisbane’s own Mr. Hollywood and The Sunday Mail entertainment and celebrity news columnist, the event takes place at the gorgeous Limes Hotel rooftop bar in Fortitude Valley.
New York state of mind
New York, New York! I have had a long distance love affair with this city for as long as I can remember. Brisbane – Hot in the city
This summer has been incredibly hot. Like unbelievably, incredibly hot. It’s almost painful watching the Australian Tennis Open knowing they hit 42 degrees Celsius down there and the players keep playing on. Quick, someone turn on the air-conditioning, I’m hot just thinking about it.
Style Spy – Gorgeous in the Valley
It felt like forever since I went out to photograph stylish folks on the streets of Brisbane, and yesterday felt like the right day to go. In hindsight it probably wasn’t the most ideal day seeing as it was insanely hot, but one must be professional and carry on.
Mad hatter
I had to share this gorgeous photo I took of Danny. He was helping me with my own photo the other day so we were testing light in different parts of the house. This was a quick test shot with him as my stand-in.
Melbourne, the cloudy city
Part two of our mini holiday was going to Melbourne to see Geoff, an old friend from New Zealand. He was actually my neighbour back in the day and he’s one of those people who you know will be in your life forever. I caught up with him for a day in November (my first visit to Melbourne) but the weather was extreme and all we could do was shop (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
